Moving to Charleston

Labor Day weekend was a great weekend! We had beautiful weather and I got to photograph this family at their lovely home in South Charlotte.  I received an email from Dana asking if I was available that weekend to take photographs of her beautiful family at their home where she and her husband raised their children.  She and her husband are empty nesters now and are moving to the beach to retire.  I love nothing more than taking photos where people live and documenting their time in and outside of their home.  They not only have great photographs of their family but also of their home.  Itโ€™s important to document these places we live, they are part of us.

We got some great photographs on their stunning front porch.  We decided to be a bit more casual at sit down for a mom and dad photograph, childrenโ€™s photograph and a big family photo.  The door to their home is beautiful, simple and unique so I need to make sure I got that in the background.  Plus we needed to capture it with all the times theyโ€™ve walked through the doorway over the years.

We moved inside for a fun photo of all the family on the sofa including their lovable dog.  He was in heaven and did such a good job posing for me.  Honestly I think he was just so comfortable on everyone's lap

We decided to use some of the backyard and golf course to finish off their session.  It was a gorgeous setting with a variety of places to get some headshots of the children who are now working or working on finding a job.  We decided to take some walking photos to mix it up some and add some silliness.   We finished off the photo shoot with one last beautiful family photograph.  I wish them the best as they retire and I wish the children the best as they go out and make the world a better place.
